Today Kiley and Liam Fry finished their goal of reading 1,000 books before kindergarten! They have the honor of being the first to earn their certificate of achievement @ the Crandon Public Library!

If you have a child who has not yet entered Kindergarten, consider signing them up for our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Reading with your child will build a solid foundation of pre-reading skills that will ensure your child enters school ready to succeed!

Liam and Kiley Fry are our first readers to finish Crandon’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program

Freeze the Gain Forest County

Are you looking for a way to maintain your weight during the hustle and bustle of the upcoming holiday season? Freeze the Gain Forest County is an initiative open to all Forest County residents to help manage weight gain throughout the holiday season.  The Crandon Public Library is partnering with the Forest County Coalition for Activity and Nutrition (Forest County CAN!) to bring this opportunity to community members interested in participating in this challenge.
Freeze the Gain encourages participants to maintain or not gain more than two pounds during the challenge, which runs from Nov. 19th through Jan. 7th.  Registration for the Forest County Freeze the Gain Challenge and a confidential weigh-in by a health care provider will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Crandon Public Library.
Participants who weigh-in and weigh-out on Wednesday, January 7th gaining no more than two pounds of their starting weight, will receive a completion award and will be entered into a drawing to win a Fit Bit, a physical fitness tracking device.
