Christmas is a time of strong family traditions and celebrations that honor the meaning of the season. It causes us to think of special people who have touched our lives and our desire to express heartfelt thoughts and feelings through giving. This year we invite the community to share the spirit by sponsoring an ornament or a memory tree in memory of a loved one. Trees will be put up and wrapped in lights by the planning committee. The planning committee will place all signs and ornaments on the trees and the trees will be displayed in the Forest County Courtyard.
As part of the Ties That Bind Us mission to provide cancer prevention, funds raised will be donated to the Forest County Park and Rec programs to promote healthy lifestyles.
Join us for our Community Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday December 4th at 6:00pm at the Courthouse Square to see your trees and ornaments on display.

Coloring for adults is a nationwide trend. Adult coloring books are a staple of Amazon’s best-seller lists. So popular is adult coloring nationwide that Parade magazine recently wrote a cover story about it and the American Art Therapy Association has issued a statement on its website about the craze.
“The coloring book phenomenon is helping to reintroduce art as an important component of health and wellness,” the association says, referring to coloring as “a self-care hobby for stress management”.
Interested? Join us on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:30 p.m. We will have a variety of pictures, colored pencils and markers available as well as light refreshments. Come have a fun evening and see what it’s all about!
